Retention Activities

Our FCCLA chapter at Elmwood-Murdock supports its students and keeps them engaged. Activities like this help members stay involved by building friendships, recognizing accomplishments, and giving students meaningful leadership experiences.

Acts of Service

Our students have many opportunities to help the community as a whole. Pictures can be found on the "Our Impact / News" page. Activities include:

  • Blood Drives
  • Feed Nebraska Project (We Made and Donated Bread)
  • Recycled Plastic into a Park Bench
  • Created a Book Walk in the Park
2024 Community Service Project photo of students and the plastic bags collected for the Elmwood Park Bench Drive

Building Friendships

  • Team Activities (Ex: Bake Sales, Snow Cone Socials, Cupcake Decorating Contest)
  • Attending District, State, and National Conferences (Also Helps Students Learn to Network)
NLC Group Dinner at the Planet Hollywood Observatory Restaurant
2025 NLC Qualifiers Making Serious Faces Next to a Figure of Pitbull at a Wax Museum

Member Recognition

Members are recognized on stage at many conferences, but they are also celebrated at the school with announcements over the loudspeaker and certificates of achievement during "end-of-year" ceremonies.

Community members also highlight student efforts on social media platforms like Facebook. Students also get congratulated by community members while out and about doing their activities. It feels good to know all your hard work matters!
