Community Impact

Feeding Nebraska FCCLA Group Project

In 2025 on November 13, our FCCLA Chapter learned how to and made bread. Which was a fun activity as well as helped our community. We made bread rolls as well as loaves, and learned cooking and bread making techniques. All in our school's own FCS classroom.

With the bread, we donated to the EM Backpack Program, which is a non-profit organization in our community. It gives food to student families in our school's district that may be requiring nutritional aid.

Elmwood Park Bench Drive

In 2024 Hannah Peterson, Morgan Gray, and Michael Hynes competed in the FCCLA Sustainability Challenge. They collected 1,000 pounds of plastic films from community members. There were collection stations across Elmwood and Murdock to make it easier for community members to contribute.

After all of their hard work and dedication to sustainability practices they received a bench for the park in Elmwood, Nebraska from NexTrex.

Making Elmwood-Murdock History and Highlighting Our FCCLA Chapter

On Thursday, April 10, 2005, The Voice News of Southeast Nebraska newspaper ran an article about our Elmwood-Murdock FCCLA Chapter website making it to the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL. This article brought attention to our FCCLA chapter in the community and increased awareness of FCCLA among community members.
