Importance of Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS)
Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) is an integral part of the FCCLA Program. They are based on personal finance, culinary sciences, human development, and sewing and design. These are the base skills every person should learn and know.
With these skills, students will become successful and better equipped for their future. These skills will apply to college applications and studies, and future career and community goals.
Example
One of our students studied food and nutrition. Even though the student is not interested in working in the culinary arts, they learned things that were applicable to their household and were building blocks for their own future family. Nutrition is important even outside of a restaurant!Become Ready for Your College and Future Career!
