Recruitment Activities

This page has information on the fun activities our Chapter has done to increase awareness of FCCLA. We hope our future activities will be just as fun for Elmwood-Murdock students!

Annual Blood Drive

Blood Drive Information January 21, 2025 image

Every year our FCCLA chapter sponsors at least one blood drive for the community. This helps increase awareness of the FCCLA program, gives our membership the opportunity to volunteer and improve the community, and provides a chance for FCCLA members to discuss the great opportunities FCCLA gives them to prepare for their future careers and life goals.

We still have 28 unfilled appointment times for the next Elmwood Murdock Communities Red Cross Blood Drive sponsored by the EM FCCLA. The blood drive will be held on Tuesday, February 25 from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Margie will be back serving a delicious lunch for all donors. Casey's has generously donated pizza for lunch. Margie will have delicious sides and desserts including her famous Krispy treats!

To schedule an appointment you can use the Red Cross app, call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: Elmwood Murdock.

Donors are also eligible for a $15 e gift card.

Please come out to donate to help save lives and help FCCLA earn scholarship money for graduating seniors!

Inviting School Students to Attend Meetings

FCCLA Meeting Notice for Recruitment August 27, 2024

Our Chapter Advisor and Officers designed a flyer and distributed it throughout the Junior/Senior High School. Students were asked to attend a meeting to learn about the benefits of FCCLA membership, including:

  • Career Readiness - Exploring areas of interest to determine possible career paths
  • College-Readiness - After exploring areas of interest, students can pick a career path and choose college classes that would follow that path

Students came, shared some food and jokes, and more people learned what our group does and its purpose.

Snow Cone Social

Snow Cone Social Flyer for September 6, 2024

Our Chapter Advisor and Officers designed a flyer and distributed it throughout the Junior/Senior High School. The flyers contained information on how to join FCCLA and gave a URL to the National FCCLA website so students could go there and learn more.

At the Snow Cone social students hung out with our chapter members and advisor. This was a great way to get students interested in joining, because they learned who else was a member and could become friends with current members and join. And, having a game and snow cones was a good way to get students interested in coming to the meeting.
