Our Officers
The Elmwood-Murdock Officers on our Executive Council are:
  • Kaia Sacco-Rhode, President
  • Hannah Petersen, Vice-President
  • Harrison Koehn, Secretary and Treasurer
Responsibilities of Our Officers

President

  • Works with advisor to develop an agenda for each meeting
  • Presides at meetings using the advisor-approved agenda and basic parliamentary procedures
  • Starts meetings on time and keeps them moving
  • Assists in group decision-making through member participation
  • Sees that necessary committees and subcommittees are formed and committee chairs are selected. May service as an ex-officio member on committees
  • Knows the responsibilities of all officers and committee chairs and keeps them informed of all business
  • Confers frequently with the advisor and other program stakeholders
  • Checks all plans with advisor before taking action
  • Represents the organization at special events and meetings
  • Provides opportunities for all members to express ideas and share responsibilities

Vice-President

  • Assumes the duties of the president in the president's absence
  • Assists the president as needed
  • Works with the program planning committee to help members develop and plan a program of work that will meet the needs and interests of those served
  • Serves as a district officer

Secretary

  • Keeps accurate and complete minutes of all meetings and activities
  • Makes minutes and resources (committee lists, activity caleendars, bylaws, etc.) available to the membership by reading, posting, or circulating
  • Keeps attendance at meetings. Keeps a current list of affiliated members
  • Reminds president of any unfinished business prior to next meeting
  • Counts and records votes
  • Assists advisor in processing affiliation forms
  • Helps create and distribute membership cards to affiliated members

Treasurer

  • Keeps an accurate record of all income, noting date received, source, and and amount and gives receipts to advisor
  • Assists advisor in collecting and submitting dues before deadlines
  • Records dues when paid by each member and comminicates records to the secretary
  • Keeps an accurate record of receipts for all money paid out, to whom it was paid, and the amount
  • Prepares and presents a report for each business meeting
  • Works closely with the advisor to manage funds
  • Works with the fundraising and program committees to prepare a budget and presents tentative budget and fundraising plans for approval
